Julian Hill
Julian Hill Scores first points of NFL career
Mon, Sep 8, 2025, 10:23 AM
Hill recorded a two-point conversion reception during Sunday's 33-8 road loss to the Colts.
Analysis: Hill wasn't targeted outside of a two-point conversion attempt in the fourth quarter, which occurred after Miami's first and only touchdown of the day. With Darren Waller (hip) inactive due to an injury setback, Hill got a chance to start at tight end Week 1 and played 58 percent of offensive snaps, while Tanner Conner saw an identical workload. Neither tight end was targeted aside from the untimed two-point conversion attempt, though Conner saw more playing time on third downs while Hill handled the majority of early downs. If Waller is unable to return Week 2 versus the Patriots, Hill and Conner will continue to split time, with neither option carrying notable fantasy value.
Nick Westbrook-Ikhine
Nick Westbrook-Ikhine Targeted twice in ugly loss
Mon, Sep 8, 2025, 10:22 AM
Westbrook-Ikhine secured one of two targets for seven yards during the Dolphins' 33-8 loss to Indianapolis on Sunday.
Analysis: Westbrook-Ikhine played 21 offensive snaps, not far removed from the 28 snaps allotted to No. 3 receiver Malik Washington. In terms of offensive opportunities, however, Westbrook-Ikhine's two targets trail Washington's six total touches (one rush, five targets) notably. Admittedly, a day in which Tua Tagovialoa turned the ball over three times and was limited to 114 passing yards isn't emblematic of Mike McDaniel's intended plans for the passing game, but Westbrook-Ikhine is currently entrenched as the No. 4 receiver heading into a Week 2 matchup against New England. He falls outside the fantasy radar in most formats.
Malik Washington
Malik Washington Makes two grabs in Week 1 loss
Mon, Sep 8, 2025, 10:21 AM
Washington secured two of five targets for 20 yards during Miami's 33-8 loss to the Colts on Sunday. He also rushed once for nine yards.
Analysis: Washington's involvement on offense was notable even in an ugly Week 1 loss, as he tied team target leader Tyreek Hill (four catches for 40 yards on six targets) in terms of total touches. Of course, none of the Dolphins' wideouts could get much going in a game that saw Tua Tagovailoa be limited to just 114 passing yards while accounting for three turnovers, but Washington quietly appears to have taken a step forward entering Year 2. He's entrenched over Nick Westbrook-Ikhine as the No. 3 receiver behind Hill and Waddle, over Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, heading into a Week 2 home game against the Patriots.
Ollie Gordon
Ollie Gordon Limited to three touches Sunday
Sun, Sep 7, 2025, 8:17 PM
Gordon rushed twice for four yards and brought in his only target for minus-1 yard in the Dolphins' 33-8 loss to the Colts on Sunday.
Analysis: Gordon came into his first professional regular-season game with the prospect of filling a solid No. 2 role behind De'Von Achane. However, a wild first half that saw the Colts establish a 20-0 lead by intermission essentially nullified the ground attack, with Achane himself logging just seven carries on the day. As a result, Gordon was rendered a non-factor, but he could be in line for more opportunities during a Week 2 home matchup against the Patriots since Jaylen Wright (knee) is expected to remain sidelined for that contest.
Jaylen Waddle
Jaylen Waddle Quiet day in Week 1 loss
Sun, Sep 7, 2025, 5:39 PM
Waddle brought in four of five targets for 30 yards in the Dolphins' 33-8 loss to the Colts on Sunday.
Analysis: Waddle's quiet final line represented the collateral damage caused by an ugly performance from Tua Tagovailoa, who turned the ball over three times while managed just 114 passing yards overall. Waddle finished tied with Tyreek Hill for the team lead in receptions and also drew even with Malik Washington for runner-up status in targets, but it was naturally a very underwhelming day overall for the star receiver. The entire Dolphins air attack will aim for a reset in a Week 2 home matchup against the Patriots on Sunday, Sept. 14.
Tua Tagovailoa
Tua Tagovailoa Forgettable performance in loss
Sun, Sep 7, 2025, 3:49 PM
Tagovailoa completed 14 of 23 passes for 114 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions while adding one rush for seven yards in the Dolphins' 33-8 loss to the Colts on Sunday. He also lost a fumble and threw a two-point conversion pass.
Analysis: In a harbinger of the type of game it would be for the Dolphins offense and Tagovailoa in particular, the 2020 first-round pick sailed a pass intended for Tyreek Hill very high on the opening drive, leading to an interception by Camryn Bynum. The veteran signal-caller then handed the ball to the Colts again on the next possession, losing a fumble recovered by former teammate Xavien Howard. Tagovailoa would go on to short-circuit another possession with a third-quarter interception in Indianapolis territory, and only his 11-yard touchdown pass to De'Von Achane and subsequent two-point conversion pass to Julian Hill in the fourth quarter gave the signal-caller's fantasy day any semblance of respectability. Tagovailoa's first opportunity for atonement comes in a Week 2 home matchup next Sunday against a Patriots defense that allowed 362 yards to the Raiders' Geno Smith in Week 1 while playing without Christian Gonzalez (hamstring).
Tyreek Hill
Tyreek Hill Subdued performance in Week 1 loss
Sun, Sep 7, 2025, 3:38 PM
Hill brought in four of six targets for 40 yards in the Dolphins' 33-8 loss to the Colts on Sunday.
Analysis: Hill finished as the co-leader in receptions and set the pace in receiving yards, but on a day when Tua Tagovailoa threw for only 114 yards, tossed two interceptions and took three sacks, those team-leading numbers weren't exactly noteworthy. The veteran speedster entered Week 1 with at least some mild questions surrounding his fantasy outlook; however, Hill appeared to maximize his opportunities in a negative game environment Sunday, and he could be in line for a boost in production in a Week 2 home matchup against a Patriots defense that gave up 362 passing yards to the Raiders' Geno Smith in Week 1.
De'Von Achane
De'Von Achane Saves fantasy day with receiving TD
Sun, Sep 7, 2025, 3:30 PM
Achane rushed seven times for 55 yards and brought in three of four targets for 20 yards and a touchdown in the Dolphins' 33-8 loss to the Colts on Sunday.
Analysis: Achane was certainly efficient on the ground, but his opportunities were capped by a surprising game script that saw the Colts already ahead by a 20-0 margin at halftime. The speedy back did offer underwhelmed fantasy managers some solace with his fourth-quarter 11-yard touchdown reception, and more opportunities on the ground should be available in a Week 2 home matchup against the Patriots.
Quinn Ewers
Quinn Ewers Serving as emergency QB in Week 1
Sun, Sep 7, 2025, 10:50 AM
Ewers is inactive and will work as Miami's emergency third quarterback Sunday versus Indianapolis.
Analysis: Ewers is third in the Dolphins' QB pecking order, so his inactive status comes as no surprise. In order for the 2025 seventh-round draft selection to be eligible to enter Sunday's contest, both Tua Tagovailoa and Zach Wilson would need to be sidelined due to injury, illness or ejection.
Dee Eskridge
Dee Eskridge Cleared to play Week 1
Sun, Sep 7, 2025, 10:47 AM
Eskridge (concussion) is active for Sunday's game against the Colts.
Analysis: Eskridge was limited in practice all week, but he has passed the league's five-step concussion protocol and will play in Sunday's regular-season opener in Indianapolis. Eskridge appeared in six regular-season games for the Dolphins in 2024 and logged three catches (on as many targets) for 44 yards while adding 146 kick return yards.
Jeff Wilson
Jeff Wilson Elevated for Week 1
Sat, Sep 6, 2025, 12:38 PM
The Dolphins have elevated Wilson to the active roster from the practice squad Saturday in advance of Sunday's regular-season opener on the road at Indianapolis.
Analysis: Wilson is primed for the No. 3 role in Miami's backfield Week 1 behind De'Von Achane and Ollie Gordon, a gig he could be asked to handle as long as Jaylen Wright (knee) remains sidelined. The 29-year-old Wilson suited up for 19 regular-season games with the Dolphins in 2023 and 2024.
Dee Eskridge
Dee Eskridge Questionable for Sunday
Fri, Sep 5, 2025, 4:05 PM
Eskridge (concussion) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's matchup with the Colts, Travis Wingfield of the Dolphins' official site reports.
Analysis: After beginning Miami's week of practice with consecutive limited sessions, Eskridge was a full participant Friday, suggesting he's trending in the right direction ahead of Sunday. However, the 28-year-old still needs to clear concussion protocol in order to play in Week 1. If he's unable to do so, Tahj Washington could see a bump in snaps as a reserve wideout.
Tyreek Hill
Tyreek Hill Set to suit up Week 1
Fri, Sep 5, 2025, 3:01 PM
Hill (oblique/calf) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's game at Indianapolis, Travis Wingfield of the Dolphins' official site reports.
Analysis: After being diagnosed with an oblique injury in early August, Hill missed most practices and Miami's entire preseason slate in the meantime, but he got back on the field last Thursday and then followed an LP/LP/FP practice regimen during Week 1 prep, paving the way for him to be available to the offense Sunday. He's coming off a down campaign for him, having put up 81 catches (on 123 targets) for 959 yards and six touchdowns in 17 regular-season games in 2024.
De'Von Achane
De'Von Achane Cleared for Week 1
Fri, Sep 5, 2025, 2:58 PM
Achane (calf) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Colts, Travis Wingfield of the Dolphins' official site reports.
Analysis: Achane participated without limitations in practice Friday and avoided a Week 1 injury designation after limited sessions Wednesday and Thursday. He'll be backed up by rookie sixth-round pick Ollie Gordon against the Colts, as fellow running back Jaylen Wright (knee) was ruled out Friday. Gordon could be better suited for short-yardage work, but the speedy Achane should get the majority of touches in Miami's backfield.
Jaylen Wright
Jaylen Wright Won't play in Week 1
Fri, Sep 5, 2025, 2:57 PM
Wright (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's season opener against the Colts, Travis Wingfield of the Dolphins' official site reports.
Analysis: Per Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com, coach Mike McDaniel revealed Aug. 28 that Wright had a "small procedure" done to address a lower leg injury, with the Dolphins' official injury report subsequently having clarified that the 2024 fourth-rounder is dealing with a knee issue. In any case, Wright will be sidelined this weekend, at a minimum, while the Dolphins haven't yet outlined a timetable for when the running back might return to practice. In Wright's absence, Ollie Gordon is slated to handle complementary snaps behind De'Von Achane (calf), with JaMycal Hasty and Jeff Wilson candidates to be elevated from Miami's practice squad ahead of Week 1 action.
Darren Waller
Darren Waller Won't play Sunday
Fri, Sep 5, 2025, 2:55 PM
Waller (hip) has been ruled out for Sunday's season opener against the Colts, Travis Wingfield of the Dolphins' official site reports.
Analysis: Per Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com, Waller suffered a hip strain this week, and the injury setback will be enough to sideline the tight end Week 1. In Waller's absence versus Indianapolis, fellow TEs Julian Hill and Tanner Conner are in line for added opportunities, while Greg Dulcich and Hayden Rucci are potential practice-squad elevations.
De'Von Achane
De'Von Achane On track to face Colts
Fri, Sep 5, 2025, 10:53 AM
Coach Mike McDaniel said Friday that Achane (calf) is "absolutely" on track to play in Sunday's season opener against the Colts, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: That aligns with Achane's previous assertion that he feels 100 percent healthy and that his recent practice limitations were precautionary. Friday's final injury report will reveal whether the running back carries a Week 1 injury designation, but at this stage it looks like he'll be available to lead Miami's backfield this weekend.
Tyreek Hill
Tyreek Hill On track for Sunday
Fri, Sep 5, 2025, 10:49 AM
Coach Mike McDaniel noted Friday that Hill (oblique) is "absolutely" on track to play Sunday against the Colts, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: The same applies to RB De'Von Achane (calf), with both players having been limited at practice Wednesday and Thursday. Friday's final injury report will reveal whether Hill heads into the weekend with an injury designation or fully cleared for Week 1 action.
Darren Waller
Darren Waller Injury setback clouds Week 1 status
Fri, Sep 5, 2025, 10:40 AM
Coach Mike McDaniel revealed Friday that Waller (hip) suffered a setback before Thursday's practice, Travis Wingfield of the Dolphins' official site reports.
Analysis: As a result, Waller didn't take part in Thursday's session, and at this stage, McDaniel said he doesn't believe the tight end will play Sunday against the Colts, a notion that could be confirmed when Friday's final Week 1 injury report is posted. If Waller is ruled out, Julian Hill and Tanner Conner would be next up for Miami's tight end reps this weekend.
De'Von Achane
De'Von Achane Limited in practice Thursday
Thu, Sep 4, 2025, 4:06 PM
Achane (calf) was limited in practice Thursday, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Analysis: Achane has now officially been limited in back-to-back practices, though he said Wednesday that he feels 100 percent healthy and that the recent cap on his reps has simply been an effort not to aggravate his calf injury. The third-year pro appears on track to suit up for Sunday's regular-season opener against the Colts, though Furones reports that the Dolphins may opt to lean on big-bodied rookie Ollie Gordon in Week 1, and relegate the undersized Achane to a smaller workload than usual as he works to return from injury. Coach Mike McDaniel declined to offer an estimation of how the Dolphins' backfield reps will be divvied up Week 1, but whether or not Achane is able to upgrade to full participation at Friday's practice could be telling.
